Abstract Splatter and Spread Intro

This next series of work begins with my past acrylic work, re-worked digitally (in Photoshop).
I have picked several abstract acrylic paintings, those I feel will work with the idea I have for this series, and made a digital copy of the piece to start the process. That is it for the "planning". Where I go from there is up to my mood, imagination, and desire. I have several completed thus far and the process from start to finish has varied greatly. Several hours to several days has been the range thus far. All the work thus far has been "gut reaction" as various effects, colors, and layers are experimented with. I plan to continue with this type of process for the remainder of the series.

with that being said, here is the first piece. Enjoy

Poetic Abstract Final

Four Rabbits

Four rabbits came before me
One for each season
One each for a reason

To remind me of myself
 while sitting in the sun
To show me an existence
 when leaves begin to fall
To teach a way a life
when snow turns the land white
To listen for an adventure
when birds begin to sing once again.

(can you see the rabbits in the painting? this was originally a watercolor painting)

Interlude Deux

Head Honcho

this one came about from a pen and ink drawing. It is from the same "sketch" that the piece "The Magician" is from.  A chief in all is regal attire, the "Head Honcho".

Poetic Abstract 6

I See Stars

I see stars
whether up there,
or in here.

Yet to be determined

A Galaxy in my mind
A universe seen by my eyes

small

very small

It is how I feel
though the weight
feels immense,
with so much out there, in here

Poetic Abstract 5

The Wall Screams

The room appeared large,
standing in the hallway
It has seemed to grow smaller
since I crossed the threshold

A fantastic painting seems to move across the wall
becoming the wall as, indeed, the room grows smaller
I approach to take a closer look
eyes appear a thousand times,
mouths open to scream a thousand times

The Wall, it screams
and my mind shuts down
the wall screams,
the wall screams,
I scream

the wall is silent
and I no longer hear,
I am no longer here

Poetic Abstract 5

Mind Walkers, Dream Keepers

Link
Always two
one to watch, one to listen
one to read, one to interpret
one for defense, one for protection

Bridge
from reality to dream
one mind, two worlds
two minds, one world
dream becomes reality
reality becomes dream

Mind walkers, Dream keepers
Dream walkers, Mind keepers
Reality check, or are we living in a dream.

Poetic Abstract 4

Abstract Dreaming
I dream sometimes, with shape and color
Thoughts floating by
  in jagged shards of red
in a glowing swatch of blue
in a receding wave of yellow
Images that pass me by
abstract color, no time for interpretation
My eye travels forward, looking at new marvels
My eye travels behind, wanting to remember
Trying to stay, wanting to move on
Swimming in space, where up and down have no meaning
All is Color
All is Beauty
All is at my fingertips

Poetic Abstract 3

Stained Glass Blues

One wonders what prayer does,
for someone who does not believe
for one who holds no allegiance to
a cross of wood,
a crown of thorns,
a book of rules.

Should you continue,
knowing your efforts are considered wasted?
or does it make you feel righteous
knowing that it will be for the best, regardless

We follow a golden rule, but
only if it is in our best interest.
We ask for forgiveness on Sunday,
We pay our fine,
We start with a clean slate on Monday.

Poetic Abstract 2

Color Kaleids

What color does pattern make?
What do we see,
that deceives our eyes.

Passing through curtains,
that create a mystery.
Light shines on thoughts,
of hue and contrast.

To each their own interpretation.
A view that is uniquely one.
Choices in the mind,
bring the pattern in the color.
