I could not decide which background colour to go with. I like both. Tell which background you would prefer?

more from the Calgary Zoo
Flightless I, II, III
new at the zoo this year is the Penguin Exhibit. Quite a line up still to get inside the building. However, these guys were walking about on the outside. we decided to hang out with the "ugly" penguins as a group of junior high girls were calling them.

Calgary Zoo pics Fall 2012
Wolf Watch
this particular wolf watched and followed a group of toddlers as they walked around the perimeter of the fence. Watched intensely! Stopped when they stopped, continued when they continued. All the toddlers were wearing a bright red jackets. Not sure if this meant anything, but it sure was fun to watch!

Friends in the Neighborhood
Island Deer
saw this young lady on our walk by the Bow River last weekend. No zoom used for this picture. She kept an eye on me the entire time but allowed me to take several pictures of her. She stayed put and we left when it was time.

Minimal Masks (final)
Mask-erade VII
this will be the last post of new work for a while. I am getting into the "nitty-gritty" of finalizing two proposals to get my artwork shown. One is an outdoor project while the second will be getting my abstract acrylic paintings shown in a gallery. The worst part of this, for me, is having to write about the work because I am all about the visual and the painting process, not so much about writing about it.
But one must do the difficult things and I usually learn one more thing about myself in the writing process.
Once I get these done, the Christmas retail season will be upon us and for my "day job" this is the busy season. Long days with long hours are par for the course starting in October. So, more than likely, I'll post some artwork from the past, some favorites, some of the challenges, and maybe something poetic. who knows!!
